Cataract surgery is a precise microsurgical procedure with excellent outcomes in most cases. However, complications do occur. One of the most challenging situations is a broken posterior capsule with vitreous prolapse. Knowing how to anticipate, prevent, mitigate, prepare, and manage the vitreous is an important skill for every practicing ophthalmologist. This MasterClass addresses the evaluation, preoperative assessment and preparation, and intraoperative and postoperative management of the eye.
